WARDVILLE
(From Our Own Correspondent.)
The Wardville main road grading and metalling has been pushed on and should be completed in a few days. The Stanley road, where not metalled, is very bad just now. The first tennis dance of the season was held in the Wardville Hall on Friday, 25th September, and passed off very pleasantly. Owing to illness, Mr Gauntlett, the Wardville school teacher, has not been able to teach school since Monday, 28th September. On Wednesday night Mr R. Scott’s house at Waharoa was burned to the ground. Mr Powell, who had been living there for some time, shifted to llinuera the day before. The Waharoa dried milk factory is being - fitted for making casein, and it is expected that the factory will be making casein by next Monday.
