OBITUARY

MR ALFRED ERNEST TORR. Mr Alfred Ernest Toor, Aged 50 years, a settler on the Tahuna road, passed away at Rotorua pn Wednesday, after an illness of about twelve months’ duration. The deceased was born at Napier, and lived subsequently at Reefton, Te Aroha and Morrinsville, being for about seven years at Matamata, where he had a farm (now occupied by Mrs Bates) on the Peria road. During his eight years’ residence on the Tahuna road, the late Mr Toor took a keen interest in the activities at Mangateparu, being a member of the school committee at different times and the chairman of the New Zealand Co-op. Dairy Co.’s suppliers’ committee, from which position he resigned owing to illhealth.

The deceased leaves a widow and four children.
