ODDFELLOWS

The usual fortnightly meeting of the Loyal Hot Springs Lodge took place last night. Bro. C. Bowie, N.G., occupied the chair. A number of visiting members were present from Waitoa, including five lady members. Two new members were admitted to the Lodge by initiation. A feature of the meetings now is the singing of the ritual odes, which adds greatly to the impressiveness of the ceremony. The honours of the Order were conferred on the new members and also upon the visiting members. Bro. Martin responded for the visitors. After the meeting a light supper was served and a short social evening was embarked upon, dancing being indulged in and thoroughly enjoyed by those present. Sister Davis and Bro. C. J. Porter officiated at the piano, their efforts being greatly appreciated.
