TE AROHA TRAFFIC BRIDGE
COUNTY OBJECTS TO THE BUILDING The Piako County Council has forwarded a letter to His Excellency the Governor-General, objecting to the rebuilding of the Te Aroha Traffic bridge. The grounds of objection are set out as follows: —
(1) That the rebuilding of the bridge at the present time is unnecessary as the present structure is quite sound, and that the Council has many other urgent and important works to do, both with regard to formation and metalling of roads and rebuilding of bridges which have been condemned as unsafe for traffic. (2) That if considered necessary the proportions set out are not in conformity with the benefits to be derived by the Te Aroha Borough Council and the Piako County Council respectively.
