A FORTUNE IN FLATS
A block of flats, the most luxurious in the world, was recently completed at Brookline, U.S.A. At a cost of over a million pounds accommodation has been provided for 900 people. The grounds extend to four and a half acres, and in them no vehicular traffic is allowed. Underground drives are provided for this, and for tradesmen.
Matrons and nurses are always in attendance for the convenience of tenants, and a doctor is available night and day. Those who desire their meals in the restaurant can make use of the splendidly-equipped diningroom, while food will be sent from the community kitchen for those who prefer it this way. There is even an indoor golf course and a squash rackets courts, and for the children playrooms are provided, complete with toys and sandpits. special newspaper keeps the inhabitants “au fait” with the doings of the community.
