Open to horses owned and trained in the counties of Ohinemuri, Matamata, Rotorua, Opotiki, Whakatane and Tauranga for two months prior to the date of meeting, and that have never won an advertised race at date of nomination. Nomination 15s, acceptance 15s. Maunganui Handicap, of 70 sovs., second horse to receive 10 sovs. and third Distance, 6 furlongs. For horses that have never won a race of more than 100 sovs. at time of nomination. Nomination 20s, acceptance 20s. Tauranga Cup Handicap, of 130 sovs., and Cup value 25 sovs., presented by W. Ferguson, Esq.; second horse to receive 20 sovs. and third horse 10 sovs. out of the stake. Distance, 14 miles. Nomination 20s, acceptance 30s.
