DRAINAGE BOARD ENGINEER’S REPORT Mr W. R. Johnson, engineer to the Hungahunga Drainage Board, reported on the works as follows: — Christie’s Outlet —The contractor has promised to put on a full gang of men as soon as possible. Peatson’s Outlet—This work has been held over until the autumn rains. Waipuna Creek—lmproving work has not yet been commenced. Valley Outlet—The contractor on this work has completed about 17 chains, and is making an excellent job. Alexander Road Deviation Outlet — Work has just been started. Donovan’s Outlet—The contractor has done 25 chains.
Rassmussen’s and Bowditch’s Outlets—lt has been decided to leave these in abeyance meanwhile until the Piako County Council has cleaned the road-side for the spoil on the former work, and the latter will be put in hand as soon as Christie’s drain is finished.
The cleaning of the Waihekau Creek has been let at 9/- per chain, the engineer’s estimate.
