ANNUAL BAZAAR

OF PRESBYTERIAN LADIES’ GUILD The annual bazaar of the Ladies Guild of St. David’s Presbyterian Church is an event that is always looked forward to by members of the church and friends. As usual this year’s attraction brought together a large number of patrons to the Parish Hall „on Tuesday, both afternoon and evening. The well filled stalls were a testimony to the large amount of time and labor bestowed by members of the Guild in preparation for the function, while the artistic arrangements were pleasing to the eye. As a result of the days operations the handsome sum of £lO3/11/- was realised. Those in charge of the various stalls were as follows: — Ladies’ stall, Mesdames Hughes and Stephenson. Children’s stall, Mesdames A. D. Wallace, Margison and Wood. Young , ladies’ stall, Misses Barleyman and Curie. Produce stall, Mesdames Hill and Woodruffe. Cake stall, Mesdames Cowley and Rowe. Sweet stall, Misses Ranby (2). Christmas tree, Mrs Morison. Fish pond, Miss Baine. Afternoon tea was catered for by Mesdames D. McL. Wallace, Ryburn, Baine, Flay and Johnson, and Miss Cowley. In the evening the chief attraction was advertising posters for which Mrs McGill gave the first prize of £l/1/-, and Mrs Baine the second prize of 10/-. The voting resulted in Master S. Ryburn securing first prize and Miss Magill second. Other competitions were—Guessing weight of a dressed turkey (111 b 12oz), Mesdames Rowe and Manners tied with 111 b 13oz and 111 b lloz respectively; doll’s name, Mrs Warner; cushion, Mr H. Ritchie; doily, Miss McDonald; cake (91b 6oz), Master Goldsbufy 91b 6oz; length of string (sft llins),'Miss Edna Baine 61ins : — prize a doily; basket of sweets, Mrs Baine.
