GOODS STOLEN

BURGLARY AT HETHERINGTON’S On Tuesday night a forced entrance was»made into the well-known drapery shop of Hetherington’s Ltd., Whitaker street. A glass panel in a door at the back of the premises was smashed and entrance was made through the broken panel. Two suits of men’s clothes, a rug and a suit case were taken.

Apart from the smashed glass panel the burglar or burglars left traces in the number of dead matches scattered through the store, suggesting that this was the means used to obtain light for carrying out their operations. A number of usdd matches are to be seen lying outside the damaged door. This method of going through a drapery shop at night constituted a serious danger of setting the place on fire. The safe was not tampered with, and no money was secured by the culprit or culprits concerned in the robbery.
