MRS GAVIN’S CLEARING SALE
There was a good attendance of prospective buyers at Mrs Gavin’s clearing sale on Wednesday afternoon, at the farm, Waiorongomai road. The Farmers’ Auctioneering Co., were the auctioneers There was fairly keen competition, the cows being well distributed, among the buyers being Messes A. Lipsey, T. Clarkin, Ryan, W A. Mathers, M. Kiely, McDowell, Hangar Bros. ,W. Squires, G. Bygraves, Wayne, H. Magill, Foote, P. Hogan, J. Hogan, McDonald, C. Rayuer, A. E. Cooke, and A. Lennard. The seventy cows averged slightly over 12 gnß , the top price being 20 gns., Mr Lipsey being the purchaser} Fifteen of the cows were purchased at from 15 gns. to 20 gns. ,25 others ranged from 12 gns., to I4£gns. , 13 niore at from 10 gns. , to llfgns. , and the remainder from 6| gns. A Shorthorn bull brought. 10 gns. Pigs were not in demand aud breeding sows only realised £2 ss, a boar £1 Is, and a barrow 15s. Sundries were disposed of at usual prices.
