“THE EAGLE’S NEST”

THEATRE ROYAL-TO-NIGHT AND TO MORROW

The Lubiu Company has lately been turning out some very tine six* reel subjects, mostly big stories of outdoor life—The Eagle’s Nest ” is such a one. This 6000-feet ieatiiroplay is adapted front the book by Edwin Arden, and the author stars in the picture together with Romaine Feilding, who will be remembered for the line work iti “ The Valley of Lost Hope,” the last six-reel Lubin, which was so universally successful. The film under review portrays in beautiful photography a big story of the wild days when the long emigraut trains trekkod to the western mining country of America. There are lights with Indians, massacres, huge mountains aud wonderful scenery. It is a tale of adventure, crammed with excitement and melodramatic excitcmeut. The story takes its name from the fact that on tlio cliff side, above tho hut, wherein a lot of action takes place, there is a nest of youug eagles. A rather remarkable “ closo-up ’’ shows tho mother bird on her nest as sho crouches aud glares malevolently at tho intruders, whom, sho thinks would rob her of her cherished ones. There is plenty of thrill aud romance aud with some light comedy in “ Tho Eagle’s Nest ’’ it will hold strong interest for those who have adventure in the open intermingled with dramatic heart interest.
