They had on board many German prisoners, some being officers of high rank. These had previpusly denied that Germant were sinking hospital ships, but they soon Had experience of the truth of the charge. Thoy behaved in a despicable and cowardly manner, fighting for places in the boats, and causing a panic in a mad rush to save their own skins.
