SOLDIERS WEDDING

MCBURNEY—REES A very quiet but interesting wedding was solemnised at the residence of Mr Chas. Wood. “Mountain View,” Waibou, on Thursday, sth inst., the contracting parties being Mr David Miller Clark Mcßurney (returned soldier), of Arbroath, Scotland, and Nurse Letty, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs E. Rees, of Dowlais, South Wales. Tho bride, who was given away by Mr C. H. Wood, looked very attractive in her uniform of steel grey lustre, with shoulder cape relieved with red. She was attended by Miss Wood, as bridesmaid, who wore a pretty white voile dress and mob cap. Mr T. Carroll, of Morrinsville, acted as best mau. The Rev. O. Blundell, of St. Mark’s Presbyterian Church, Te Aroha, performed tho nuptial rites. After the ceremony the bridal party aud a number of friends sat down to the wedding breakfast at “Mountain View,” where all the customary toasts were on thusiastically honored. Suspended above the table was a beautiful floral wedding bell. Mr and Mrs Mcßurney were the recipients of many valuable and useful wpddiug preseuts, and also a sheaf of congratulatory letters and telegrams.
