High Rates for Butter

THE RIMUTAKA SHIPMENT London, December 4 disturbed at the prohibition of Australian export, though this is one of the factors contributing to High prices. The general opinion of wholesalers is that the stoppage of Australian exports will harden prices for all the choicest lines,especially New Zealand, and will greatly assist in the sale of Siberian, of which enormous supplies are available. Quality is secondary, but the butter is useful for blending | with the New Zealand and Danish. Another result will be to enhance the sale of margarine. Quotations for Colonial are rather firmer, Australian being quoted at 1625t0 1665, unsalted 168 s. There is good inquiry for the Rimutaka’s shipment, just discharg- <■ ing at 166 s to 17Qs, There is a strong market for cheese ' New Zealand being quoted at about 90s.
