SATISFACTORY PROGRESS In Auckland on Monday the Premier stated that during the past fortnight a great improvement had taken place in recruiting, and men were now coming forward in a very satisfactory manner, He was proud to say that New Zealand, in proportion to its population, led the other Dominions in the assistance given the Empire, and it intended to keep that position, however long the war might last. Up to the present New Zealand had despatched 17,000 men. Within the next fortnight there would be 7,000 camped at ,Trentham, making a grand total of 25,000.
