Death From Lockjaw

The wound bad healed up, but on Saturday tetanus supervened, and a spasm set in every few hours. Chloroform was administered, and artificial respiration was applied. Between the spasms the boy was quite sensible, but every lime the spasm came on his jaw dropped and liis limbs became rigid. When the over-jaw became locked again a supply of antitozin was obtained from Auckland and injected on Monday, but it did no good, death resulting.
