The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company’s, Ltd. weekly report. On Thursday at Westfield we bold our weekly sale of dairy and store cattle. Dairy cows close to profit sold at from £5 10s to £7 17 6d; heifers, £4to£6 10s; other sorts, £3 to £4 5s ; empty cows, £2 2s to £3 ; yearling heifers, £1 10s to £1 18; calves, 8s to £1 7s. Owing to last Friday being a boliday there was no sale at the Durham-street Yards, but a good many horses were sold privately. At Westfield on Wednesday we Lad an average yarding, of fat cattle- Trices were a shade lower than the previous week. Steers sold at from £6 to £9 7s 6d ; cows and heifefs, £4 5s to £7 2s 6d. Ox beef sold up to 21s per 1001 b and cow to 19s, Calves, in short supply, sold at 3s to 355, Sheep were yarded in fair numbers and sold at late rates. Best wethers sold at from 14s 6d to 17s 3d‘other sorts 12s 9d to I4s ; ewes, 10s 6d to 14s 9d ; lambs, well fatted 10s to 13s 9d, others 5s to 9s Pigs; Porkers, Jssto£l 10s; baconers, £1 10s to £2 13s : weaners, os to 10s.

Hides, Skins, etc. ; Owing to the holidays our usually weekly sale of bides, skins, and tallow was not held this week. Wheat: The market is weak at 3s lid ex store.

Oats ; The market is bare ; worth nom* inally 2s 6d ex store. Maize : Stocks heavy ; sales weak ; 3s "ex store.

Barley : Selling freely at 2s 7d ex store.

Potatoes : Stocks are light and the market firm at £7. Further supplies are due shortly. Butter : In good demand for all grades First grade registered, 9£ ; second grade do., f’d. First grade farmers’, S^d; second grade do., BJd. ; poor 7|d to Bd. Cheese : Farmers’ slow of sale at 4d to 5d ; factory, d ?[d to s]d. Eggs: Selling freely at Is 5d per dozen. Fungus : Selling rea.lily at s£d.
