BOWLING.
The upper green in the Domain looks to be in very fair order. Should the weather prove favourable doubtless the head of the Department in Te Aroha (Mr G. F. McGirr) will have everything in readiness for the opening day, November Ist. The head gardener (Mr Dalton) has had the elements to contend with during the last few months, but notwithstanding this, the Domain looks very pretty, while the bowling greens do him credit. It is not expected, however, that the lower greon will be playable this season.
The Karangahake Club has agreed to a tournament for the Goldfields challenge stars being held on its green on Saturday. 20th November, Invitations have been received by the local Club to attend official openings of bowling greens on the following dates : Rotorua, 16th October ; Epsom, 16th October ; Karangahake, 30th of October.
