CRICKET
With the advent of spring, our local “ knights at the willow ” are beginning to talk crioket, and much interest is being evinced in the coming season. Hitherto cricketers in this district have been handicapped through lack of good grounds, bnt one club, at least, is determined to remove this defect as the Waiorongomai players are laying a first-rate asphalt pitch to play on this season. There is some talk of having a Cricket Association for Piako this year, but, so far, no definite steps have been taken. The season will be opened locally next Saturday when Waiorongomai and Waihou play at Waihou. The Waihou team will be chosen from the following :■ Messrs R. G. Lewis, J. Comerford, A- Forrest, A. Bell, T. D. Rice, W. F. Ross, E. J. Weir, E. Farrow, Jack, Joe and P. Timmins, R. Maxwell, and H. Ilbert.
