The Earthquake Relief Committee reports a sum of 18£ million lire (about three-quarter million sterling has been collected for Jthe relief of the sufferers by the earthquake. Correspondence received here shows some remote villages of Carabia overlooked or forgotten during the relief works until a fortnight ago' Many of the inhabitants were shelterless and starving.
