The labour market is improving, and work is becoming more pientitul. In addition to the large number of persona who have received temporary relief in the way of food afc the rcfiof depOr, 1,525 persons havo been furnished v ifch employment up to Tuesday last, and to-day, when the depofc willcloso, thenumberwillhavebeenincreased to 1,745, exclusive of 350 poraons who have received tree parses. 340 men were turned away from the depot gates as undeserving of relief. It is stated that the man employed are for the moet part working ataadily, and; obtaining satisfactory remuneration, more especially at KmneU, whore good cugns are tlio rale.
