A very wide circle of friends will learn with deepest sorrow and regret that Mr R. T. Batley, of Moawhango, has received a cable from the military authorities advising him that hig son, Piriau, was killed in action in Prance on the 10th of this month. Mr and Mrs Batley will have the heartfelt sympathy of almost every man and woman in this district in their great sorrow'.
