DAYGETY AND COMPANY, LTD. PALMERSTON NORTH. . HIDE AND SKIN REPORT. At onr usual monthly sale on Thursday, 23rd inst, we offered a good catalogue of sheepskins, hides and tallow, with small quantity of wool, A full attendance of buyers were present, and competition was good for ail' sound lines of full-woolled skins, and best lines of hides, but sore of the inferior lines of skins were a little slow of sale, more especially seedy descriptions.
Wool. —Crutchingsv medium lOd to 103 d; seedy and inferior from 4d to sd; best ilnes dead wool 13d; other lots, lid to 12d; rough fleece in bags, 9j£d to 1/; locks and pieces 6d to BJd. Sheepskins.—Full wool, coarse, best line, lUd to 93d; ditto, medium and fine, 93d; ditto rough and damaged, 73d to 9d; hoggets, woolly, 82d to 9d; short and shorn 6d to 7d; ditt< . broken and damaged, 4d to 6£d; dead 6Jd to 8d; ditto, dead hoggets, 7|d; seedy and inferior, 2d to 4d. Butchers, damp, salted and grid, at each. —Medium to good lines, £•/, S/4, 8/9; light, 6/, 6/8 to 7/6; hoggets, 5/ to 5/6; pelts, 1/5 each; spring lambs 1/.
Hides. —Ox, heavy, 10 5-8 d to 103 c ; light, lOd to lOSd; steers, 9d; cow, best lines, to 8 7-8 d; medium to good, 8 3-8 d to 81; rough country lines, 8d; ditto,'cut, slippy, 61d to 7d; cut and slippy, 6M ot BJd; stags and bulls 6d; yearlings 71d to 8d; cut and damaged, 6d ot 63d; horse hides, to 7/6 each; calf, best lines, 10£d; medium to good lOd to 10Jd; cut, meaty and damaged 6d to B^d. Sundries. —Tallow, in tins, 21/6; casks, 23/6; rough fat, 15/; horsehair, 1/2 per,lb.
