GRAND PATRIOTIC CONCERT.

TOWN HALL, TO-NIGHT. • The Monster Patriotic Concert, to be held in the Town Hall this evening gives evidence of being one of the most successful entertainments ever held in Taihape. The programme is a varied one and consists of songs, recitations character sketches and instrumental items, etc. A fetaure of the entertainment will be the appearance of Crozier’s Orchestra and the Marten Spoof Band. Two talented young elocutionists are down on the programme for items, Miss Elsie Robinson, of Palmerston North and Master Jim Walsh, of Pahiatua, both big prize winners at elocutionary competitions. Tihe concert will open with a grand spectacular procession entitled, “Brittania and her Sister Allies” in which some forty young people will take part, and conclude with a screamingly funny boxing act by the Mart.on itrformers.

The proceeds from the entertainment will be equally divided amwgst the competing Queen candidates. The concert will commence sharp at 8 p.m. and those desirous of securing a seat are advised to put in an early appearance.
