MANAWATU PATRIOTIC SHOW, 1915.

The attention of ouiy readers is drawn to the advertisement annuucing this most i important Show. The dates are 3rd, 4th, and sth of November, and the event, which is the thirtieth of the Association 's’ Spring fixtures, is to be a hod-letter occasion, as it is to be held •solely for the Sick and Wounded Fund. The Association has rendered great assistance in various ways for war purposes, not only to patriotic Committees, ■but to the Defence Department, and the 'Committee now proposes to make its own contribution in a direct way. 'To make the Show the success it deserves it is hoped that all A. and P. supporters will rally round in the fitting manner the object deserves. The Prize Schedule now to hand is quite up to previous years' standards. Copies may be had from the Secretary, Mr. W. T. Penny, Box 85, Palmerston North. The Committee has very wisely decided nt to interfere with the prize money, recognising that the getting up of Show exhibits is often a costly business and exhibitors lie to have at least the chance of 'decouping their outlay. A new division is inserted for Milking Shorthorns, with a Championship and other special prizes. The magnificent collection of beef and dairy cattle always to be seen at Palmerston North Show will be more interesting than ever with this now addition, and, further, will be better displayed in a magnificent new cattle pavilion. Breeders will have the satisfaction of knowing that no matter how bad the weathei'is the animals will be all well housed, comfortable, and protected from the elements. A certain amount of planting has been done, which, together with other ground improvements, will afford more pleasure to visitors. The foregoing details will, we hope, prove of interest to those of our readers who know what this famous* Show is and ensure a visit from those who have yet to experience this pleasure.
