CARNIVAL NOTES.

In my report of. .the Utiku meeting‘s held last week to choose a candidatefor the district, I omitted a statement made, by Mr. Ashton, manager o£ the Egmont Box Company’s iml'l, Ohutu,. that the employees of the mill would loyally support the “Farmers'' Queen.” This statement was received with applause and I understand that a strong committee has been formed there. Mrs. Gilchrist’s chances are indeed rosy.
