It is indicated that the new Japanese-American treaty may negative the recently passed Californian anti-Japanese laws, but it is believed that the same result may be achieved by laws prohibiting the ownership of land in California by aliens. This is expected to produce dissatisfaction on the part of many foreign interests who control oil lands and other properties. V —i
