MAGISTRATE'S COURT.

TO-DAY'S CASES. Messrs F. 11. Christian and A. D. Ford, J.P.'s, presided at a sitting of the Police Court this morning. Drunkenness—Two male first offendersfor drunkenness were each fined 5/-, in default 24 hours' imprisonment. A first offender was convicted and discharged. Michael Mybrae, a second offender, was fined 10/-, in default 48 hours' imprisonment. Alleged Assault. —Charles Brown and John Baxter Ker were jointly charged with assaulting, on December 24, Hector Matheson by striking him with clenched fists, and further with attempting to steal from the person of> Michael Mybrae. Both accused were remanded to January 4. Mixed Drinks. —Joseph Johnston and Wm. Anderson were charged with, on December 25, breaking and entering the storeroom of Gerald Robert McMillen and stealing therefrom a quantity of cigarettes and cordials and a bottle of methylated spirits to the value of £4 They were remanded to January 4.
