ROYAL MUSICAL SOCIETY.
The third subscription concert of the Royal Musical Society's season will take place at the Choral Hall on Tuesday and Thursday of next week, when Handel's Immortal oratorio, the "Messiah," will be performed by a good cast of soloists, together with an orchestra and chorus of over 200 performers. Mr Sidney Butler, tho tenor, late of the Royal Aeudemy, comes with a good reputation as a soloist. Dr J. C. Palrman, baritone, who will make his first appearance on the Chrlstchurch concert platform, will sing, in addition to usual bass solos, "The Trumpet Shall Sound," the trumpet obbligato being played by Mr H. Fox. The box plans open at Begg's at 1 o'clock on Thursday. A few tickets are still available to non-subscribers.
