ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the New Zealand Trotting Association was held last evening, there being present:—Messrs J. H. Williams (in the chair), ,T. M. Samson, W. H. Denton, C. F. Mark, H. W. Kitchinghaiu, H. V\. Short, and \V. J. Hopkins. The annual report stated that the revenue (including a credit balance of £BO 16/9 brought forward from the previous year) amounted to £2OOO 19/fi, and the disbursements to £2054 2/7, leaving a credit balance of £G 10/11, nfter purchasing £BOO -worth of War Bonds. Last year a decided Increase in revenue was reported from each department. This year there was an even more pronounced increase. An item which had never appeared in the balance-sheet before was that of registration of new clubs. Under a rule passed last year fresh clubs applying for registration were required to pay a registration fee of £lO 10/-. There were eight such clubs registered duriug theseason, which accounted for £B4, and swelled the amount received as programme fees. Racing elubs which encouraged trotting were also responsible for more programme fees than previously. Tiierc were now many racing clubs which catered for trotting, and which set aside for these events one-fourth of their programmes. There were 517 horses registered (including those imported into the Dominion) as against 309 in the previous year. The total number of licenses issued was 2347, an increase of 599 on the previous year's figures. There was now £I3OO of the board's funds invested in this manner. The provident fund account showed that claims were paid to the extent of £3Bl 9/0, made up by grants to distressed and disabled trainers, riders, and drivers. In moving the adoption of the report, which was carried, Mr Williams stated that the balance-sheet and report as submitted by the treasurer, Mr Hopkins, were most satisfactory. Mr Kitchingham moved a hearty vote of thanks to retiring officers for services rendered to the association. This was carried. The election to All vacancies on the board resulted in the following appointments being made:—For the North Island, Mr R. A. Armstrong: for the South Island, Messrs H. F. Nieoll, J. H. Williams, and W. H. Denton. The new board therefore comprises Messrs P. Selig (president), H. F. Nieoll (vice-president), .1. H. Williams, W. H. Denton, H. W. Kitchingham, C. F. Mark, J. M. Samson, R, W. Short, and R. A. Armstrong. MONTHLY MEETING. Previous to the annual meeting taking place the monthly meeting of the association was held. Permission was given for Mr R. 11. Wllkie , to change the name of "Princess Irnia" to ; "Grace Direct." The following programmes were approved:—Otago Hunt Cluli (1 trot), Amberley R.C. (2), Kurow J.C. (2), Grcymouth T.C. (2), Oamaru T.C.«jOtarama R.C. (2), Poverty Ray Hunt Club (1), the last subject I to the necessary amount in stakes being stated. Certificates of registration were issued as follow:—Peter Moko, by Peter the GreatMrs Nash; Homeleigh Dick, by Dixie AltoChris, both subject to the receipt of further documents. A number of drivers' licenses were granted. That of E. McCann was granted with a caution; and that of Albert Kerr was refused.
