Governor of Mauritius, interviewed at Durban, said that the question of the retrocession of Mauritius to France had been definitely settled. The island would remain a British possession. Ninety per cent, of the inhabitants had no desire whatever for a change of flag. It is estimated that the Mauritius sugar crop for the season will total 260.000 tons.
