NEW DEMANDS FILED. Preto Association. WELLINGTON, November 4. The demands of the Wellington section of Hie Australasian Institute of Marine Engineers have been filed. The monthly schedule of wages asked is:—Chief or only engineer: Under 20 nominal horse-power, £26; 20 to 40 h.p., £2B; 40 to 60 h.p., £2B 10/-; 60 to 80 h.p., £29; 80 to 100 h.p., £3l; 100 to 150 h.p., £32. Second engineers: Under 80 nominal h.p., £23; 80 to 150 h.p., £24. Third engineers: Under 100 nominal h.p., £2O; 100 to 150 h.p., £2l 10/-. When vessels arc engaged on excursions, Sundays, or public holidays, it is demanded that each engineer he paid an extra day's sea pay. The allowance asked for victualling and accommodation is:— 7 Chief or sole engineers, 11/- per day; others, 10/- per day, or 50/- per week.
