For the Imperial Challenge Shield rifle competition for the cadet forces of the Empire 755 senior teams entered and 554 junior. The Australians secured 36 prizes out of 69 in the senior division and 13 out of 54 in the junior division. The New Zealanders took four senior and five junior prizes, and Great Britain 20 senior and 25 junior. The Ist Platoon of the 3rd Company of the 27th Battalion of Australian Infantry Cadets won the senior shield with an average of 98 points. Geelong was second with 95.8 points, Launceston third with 95.6 points, Geelong fourth with 93.6 points, New Plymouth High School fifth W?th 91.8 points. The City of London Cadets won the junior shield with 93.4 points. j Launceston was second with 93.1 I points. New Plymouth High School took fourth, fifth and sixth prizes.
