LOST IN THE BUSH.

PIG-HUNTER'S TRYING TIME. [Special to The San.] WANGANUI, September 4. ' Advices to hand from Whangamomona state that a man who was hunting wild pigs in dense bush on the Taranaki side of the Wanganui River, had a most unenviable experience. Tahunaroa settlers knew that he had entered the bush on Monday morning, and, as there was no appearance of-him on Tuesday, some anxiety was felt by his friends. The. Wanganui police were communicated with to ascertain' if he had joined a boat coming down the river, but, as upon inquiry it was found that he was not on board, a search party from Tahunaroa set out to try and find him. After getting through ' a trackless forest waste, the search party found the missing man in a very exhausted condition in a dense gorge near the Wanganui River. Restorative measures were applied, and the adventurer was enabled to get out of the bush, with the assistance of his rescuers.
