Official advices from North Russia afates that Bolsheviks attacked general Maynard's positions on Lake Vigozcro. • A counter-attack on both flanks was carried out with great tfash. The-enemy fled southward, leaving 50 dead. PRISONERS SLAUGHTERED, (Renter) LONDON, May 8. Advices from Ekaterinodar; in Kuban province, Ciscaucasia, state that a gravedigger at Paitigorsk, where generals and ex-Ministers, including Generals Russky and Doitrieff, were massacred during the Bolshevik regime, narrated how he .was awakened at midnight by Red Guards, carrying naked swords, and ordered to accompany them to a large grave where 35 prisoners, old and young, were ordered to bare their necks and kneel. The leader commanded his followers to begin from the left. Five Red Guards proceeded to carry out the execution in a leisurely manner, like a butcher chopping meat, often missing the rteck and slashing the face. Some of the victims fell outside the grave and were kicked in. When the work was finished the Red Guards lit cigarettes, laughed and jested, while groans were audible beneath the earth as the grave was filled.
