CRISIS IN POLAND.
PADEREWSKI RESIGNS. (A.&N.Z.) WARSAW, May 17. A grave crisis has arisen in Poland owing to the Diet refusing to support M. Paderewski's Paris pledge to cease the offensive on the- East Galieian front. General Pilsudski, Commander-in-Chief, supported M. Paderewski in view of the latter securing Mr Hoover's assurance that Poland would be fed, financed, and supplied with raw materials. General Pilsudski cancelled the arrangements for the offensive, but the Diet repudiated the Paris negotiations and compelled General Pilsudski to re-issue the order to attack, thereupon M. Paderewski resigned. It is probable that the public will support M. Paderewski whenthe importance of Mr. Hoover's negotiations k revealed. LEMBERG NEUTRALISED. (A. & N.Z.) PAWS, May 10. A-ielegram from Kieff states that the Poles and Ukrainians have agreed that Leinberg shall be neutralised. DEMOBILISATION. PROGRESS IN AMERICA. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Rec.
