WEDDING.

1A pretty wedding took place on Saturday afternoon in the Duiham Street Methodist Church, the Eev Percy Knight, 8.A., officiating. The bridegroom was Mr Harold Malcolm Keir, eldest son of Mr David Keir, of Queensland* and the bride Miss Ada Ellen Cowell, of this city, niece of Mr and Mrs H. S. Gill, Manchester Street. The church was beautifully decorated by girl friends of the bride, a large "wedding bell" being suspended over the altar. ~ /The bride, who was given away by her

nnele, wore a tasteful frock of oystercoloured cloth, with georgette sleeves, and ahat of black panne velvet relieved with vieux rose georgette and gold tissue. She carried a lovely shower bouquet of heliotrope chrysanthemunjs and maiden-hair fern. The bridesmaids were Miss Olive Jennings < and Miss Ereda Asquith, the letter a niece of the bride. . velvet and georgette.- Miss Asquith wore a-vieux rose crepe de Chine frock relieved - with black, and a suede hat the same -. colour as her frock. Both carried shower bouquets of gold and bronze chrysanthei_';. mums. '"Mr Harry Marsh accompanied the " bridegroom as best man, and Mr James McYinney was groomsman. All the three were in khaki, having only recently returned from the front. The service was fully choral, Mr Ernest Firth, P.R.C.0., presiding at the organ, and the choir (of which the bride had been a member) being in attendance. I After the reception, which was held in the church parlour, the bride and bridegroom left by motor for a few days'trip. They will return to Christchurch about " the middle of the week and then leave for Tauranga and Auckland, joining the Moeraki at the latter place for Australia, where they will visit the bridegroom's people in Queensland. They \ expect to be back in Christchurch about August. The bride's travelling dress was of navy tailor's serge, and she wore a closefitting hat in black and saxe. jAn array of beautiful presents were refeived, including a silver entree dish from members of the Durham Street Methodist Church Choir.
