A SAILOR DROWNED. Tt(H Aiiociation. NAPIER. April 28. Michael McDonald, an elderly tailor, who had just signed off the Koutnnui, was drowned in the Iroir Pot at Port Ahuriri this afternoon. He misjudged the distance between some railway trucks and a vessel, and fell into the water. He was recovered almost instantly by a stevedore named Fitzgibbon, but was dead when brought on to the wharf. KNOCKED DOWN BY MOTOR CAR. WELLINGTON, April 28. Kric Shapcott, the young son of Mr George Shapcott, of the Harbour Board staff, died at the hospital yesterday from injuries sustained last Tuesday by being knocked down by a motor car driven by Lieut.-Colonel Leahy, N.Z.M.C. KILLED BY MOTOR CAR. WELLINGTON, April 29. An elderly woman, Mrs Margaret Beid, was knocked down by a motor car in John Street at 7 o'clock last evening, and admitted to the hospital, uneonscions. She did not recover consciousness, and died four hours later. The motor was driven by Mr E. Williams, of Island Bay. FELL DOWN A HOLD. WELLINGTON, April 29. Patrick Fogarty, a waterside worker, who fell down the hold of the Kamona last week, died in the hospital. KILLED BY MOTOR CAR. WELLINGTON, April 29. At the inquest on the boy Erie Shapcott, who died from injuries received by being knocked down on the Hutt Boad by a motor car driven by Dr. Leahy, a verdict was returned of accidental death, no blame being attachable to the doctor,
