A great assemblage witnessed the inter-Allied boat race on the Seine. Mr Maxsey and Sir Joseph Ward folbwed the race throughout The New Zealanders won their heat with comparative ease, and met France, Newfoundland, and America In the final. There was a slashing race between New Zealand and America over the last quarter of a mile, hut the New Zealanders alwavs had a bit up their sleeves, winning by three-quarters of a length. Great enthusiasm was manifested. There was a strong wind and roughIsh water. There were few New Zealand troops in Paris, but the Australians in force sported the New Zealand colours and cheered the " crew along the riverbank.
