The "Daily Telegraph" has comnenced the publication of Viscount French's book, entitled "19H." It deals with the utmost candour with fcis relations with Lord Kitchener during the Mons retreat and the shortage of ammunition and reinforcements early in 1915. Marshal Foch contributes a preface dealing with the German rushes for the seaports, and shows the imnense importance of the battle for Ipres. He says that Viscount French kept his troops up to Wellington's level.
