The Medical .Council has decided to 'recommend the Cabinet to defer the question of lifting the influenza restrictions for a fortnight. The decision includes racing. The Cabinet will consider the matter to-morrow. EPIDEMIC COMMISSION. Press Association, ' WELLINGTON, April 28. Ail extension of time for the completion of the report of the Epidemic Commission has been decided upon. It is probable that the extension will be for one month. JAPANESE ABANDON VISIT. (Rcc. Apr. 29,11.0) MELBOURNE, Apr. 29. Owing to the prevalence of influenza, the Japanese squadron has cancelled its visit to the eastern States. QUARANTIKE AREAS. (Rec. April 29, 11.0) SYDNEY, April 29. Mr Massy Green informed a deputation that he was urging the removal of the quarantine area from North Head and that officers of the department were preparing a report upon the suitability of Port Stephens as a quarantine port for New South Wales. It was unlikely that Cabinet would interfere with the Consultative Medical Council's recommendations.
