DEFAULTERS' LIST.

PUBLICATION DELAYED. [Special to The Sun.] WELLINGTON, April 28. The publication of the official list of military defaulters, under the Act of last session, is being delayed while some amendments are made in accordance with the recommendations of the Military Defaulters' Commission. The men whose names are included in this 'list are to be deprived of civil rights for 10 years and subjected to other penalties, and the commission was instructed to investigate the oases of imprisoned defaulters with the object of ascertaining what men were entitled to the limited measure of protection accorded by the Military Service Act to religious objectors. It is understood that the commission, whose report has not yet been published, is disposed to place a liberal interpretation on the term "religious.", Certain names originally included in tiie defaulters' list are to be removed. •••
