MAGISTRATES CALLED.
APPEALS FOR EXEMPTION. At a silting or the First Wellington Military Service Board yesterday, the Chid' Clerk, Department of Justice (Mr W. Gollan), appealed on behalf of Wyvern Wilson, Stipendiary Magistrate, Auckland. The chairman: You say it is impossible to replace Mr Wilson? Mr Gollan replied that at present seven Stipendiary Magistrates were engaged in work in connection with the Military Service Act. The magistracy was at present considerably below its normal strength. The result was that several Magistrates were now attending to two districts. Magistrates had been classed as "most essential" by the National Efficiency Hoard. The hoard reserved its decision sine die. in this case, also in respect to Mr 11. 1). Moslev, S.M.. Thames., and Mr 1-:. Page, S.M., Auckland. A sine die decision was given in respect to William 1).
