WEDDINGS.

Yesterday afternoon a pretty wedding was celebrated at St. Barnabas's Church, Fendalton, the Rev. Canon Hamilton officiating. The bridegroom was Mr Leonard Fitzroy Castleliow, formerly of the Main Bodv, eldest son of Mr and Mrs T. Castlehow, Southland, and the bride was Miss Ada Louise Wood, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs C. Wood, Burnside Road, Fendalton. The bridegroom wore his khaki uniform, and was attended by Mr H. Anderson and Mi E. B. Brandon as groomsmen. The bride wore a charming robe of v Lite crepe <le chine, worn with a coronet of orange buds and embroidered tulle veil. Her bouquet was of white and pink blossoms, tied with white satin streamers. Her sisters, Misses Violet bid Cynthia Wood, were bridesmaids, and wore pretty frocks of soft Wedgewood blue silk, and carried bouquets in shaded pink tones. There was a tinv flower-girl, little Elsie Bond (niece of the bridegroom), who looked very sweet in white muslin, carrying a basket of violets and daisies.

Miss Brandon, a cousin of the bride, played "The Voice That Breathed O'er Eden" at the commencement of the c< remony, and the "Wedding March" (Mendelssohn) as the bridal party left the church. An adjournment was then made to the residence of the bride's parents, where a large party of guests were entertained at a wedding tea in honour of the event. The usual toasts were proposed, that of '' The Bride an 1 Bridegroom" being accorded musical honours. Afterwards Mr Castlehow and his bride left for a short wedding trip, the latter travelling in a navy blue costume and hat to match.

Mrs Wood (the bride's mother) wore a blue costume and black velvet hat with shaded bine plume. Mrs Castlohow (mother of the bridegroom) was in molecoloured corded silk, and a molecoloured hat with touches of emerald green. Mrs ,1. Bond (sister of the bridegroom) wore n cigar-brown cloth, and brown silk hat lined with pink.

At St. John's Presbyterian Church, Southbridge, on Monday afternoon, the marriage took place of Miss Florence Batt, only daughter of Mr A. J. Batt, of the locomotive department. New Zealand Railways, to Mr Andrea .Jensen, of Christchurch. The bridesmaid was Miss Jensen, and the best man Mr Austin, of Christchurch; The Rev. J. S. Reid, of Dunsandel, was the officiating clergyman. After the ceremony a "reception was hel'l at the residence'of the bride's parents.
