REWARDS FOR BRAVERY.
TWO POSTHUMOUS HONOURS. Press Association. THAMES, March 15. Sir James Allen visited the Thames last night, and was received by the local troops, headed by the Regimental Band. In a large meeting at the Central Hall, presided over by the Mayor, Sir James Allen presented Military Medals for gallantry on the field to Mr Francis, father of Lance-Sergeant Francis, and Mr Whitehouse, father of Poti Whitehouse. Both the winners of the medals had made the supreme sacrifice. Sir James spoke highly of their meritorious conduct as an incentive to others. Sir James Allen left for Eotorua this morning.
