"WAKE UP, NEW ZEALAND."

to tne Editor ot THE SUN. Sir, —In view of the German raider’s exploits in the Pacific, and their minelaying proclivities around our coasts, and also the fact that the captain of the Seeadler, in his recent escape from New Zealand, made straight for the Kermadecs, is it not time that our Government took some steps to keep an armed force, with wireless installations, on these and other outposts of New Zealand to prevent them from becoming a base and rendezvous for the enemy. I notice the cables to-day notify that the Germans are transporting submarines to Vladivostock, which, I take it, is a further menace to this eountrv. —I am, etc, WATCHDOG.
