By the destruction of the bridges over the Isonzo and a successful action, our covering units detained the enemy's advance. Our cavalry is in contact with the hostile vanguards.

ENEMY THRUST ON THE CARNIO ALPS FRONT.

Austro-Germans from the Carnic Alps gained a foothold in Venetian soil along the whole front. The Carnic Alps are on the north-eastern border of Italy—to the north of the region at present being invaded.
