ROUT OF THE TURKS.
ENEMY DEMORALISED. ARMY A SPENT FORCE. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. LONDON, March 12. The "Daily Telegraph's" Rome correspondent has received information from Turkish sources that the army in Mesopotamia is demoralised, and is a spent force. It lacks food, munitions, and artillery. The Turkish armies in Armenia and Persia are in a similar condition. The bad winter weather hitherto saved them, but this protection is now ended. MAUDE CAN HANG ON. BRITISH HAVE SUPPLIES. In ihe House of Commons, Mr Bonar Law said that General Maude reports that he is satisfied we can provide for the army's necessities in Bagdad. THE RUSSIAN ADVANCE. TURKS FALLING BACK. A. and N.Z. A Russian communique states: — We occupied Rissotun, in the region of Hamadan (Western Persia) on March 8, after routing the Turks, who withdrew towards Hadjiabad, pressed by our troops. TURKS BLAME GERMANS. BEST TROOPS IN EUROPE. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. LONDON, March 13. Rifaat Bey has left Geneva for Turkey, and Bedry Bey has left Constantinople for Berlin;, owing to reported differences between Turkey and Germany regarding the Mesopotamia losses. It is believed that the Turks are holding Germany blameworthy because the best of the Turkish troops were sent to defend Austria and Germany. TROUBLE IN STAMBOUL. GRAVE EVENTS REPORTED. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. LONDON, March 12. A Swiss message states that grave events have occurred at Constantinople.
