RICCARTON BOROUGH.
MEETING OF COUNCIL. The Riecarton Borough Council mot last evening, the Mayor (Mr J. Brown) presiding. There were also present: — I (Irs. A. D. Ford, J. Munnings, A. F,. | Steere, J. H. Gudsell, H. W. Wise, W. ! Dalley, and A. Hampton. j The Lighting Committee reported j that a,number of street lamps had been j renewed. During the past fortnight, four new premises had been connected with the supply,.bringing the total to jdate to 120. The committee recommcnd--1 ed that Messrs Fnlwood and Hay's ten- | der of £79 for erection of a workshop in j brick be accepted. The report was adoptedIt was decided to donate £2 2/- to assist in the purchase of articles for the amusement of the soldiers while on the transports.
