Miss Baxter (Oreymouth) is visiting ('anon and Mrs Bean. Addinglon. Mr and Mrs Spence (Gisborne) left for the south to-day. after a short stay in Christchurch. Mr and Mrs Knight (Hawke's Bay), accompanied by Miss Hindmarsh, arrived in Christchurch this morning, and are staying at Warner's. Mr and Mrs McLeod (Pahiatua) left Christchurch this morning, on a visit to friends in South Canterbury. Mr and Mrs A. Clark (Auckland) are visiting Christchurch. Mr and Mrs Lcyland (Auckland), who have been staying in Christchurch, have gone to Hanmer for a few days. Mr and Mrs Sidney Kidman, Mrs Ayres, and Mrs Davies are visiting Hanmer. Miss L. Molineaux (Christchurch) is staying with Mrs Molineaux, Wellington. The Governor and Countess of Liverpool, who have been in residence in Christchurch for the past, three months, will return to Wellington about the end of the present week. Their Excellencies will leave for Auckland next month, and will remain there for some weeks. The household will go back to Wellington next. Wednesday. The Lady Liverpool workers have hit upon a splendid idea for adding to their funds in connection with the Art Exhibition which will be opened to the public, on Thursday next at the Art Gallery. They have decided to hold an afternoon tea stall eacli day for the three weeks, and also to have a producestall for the same length of time. Each afternoon a bright musical programme will be given. The afternoon tea for the first day will be provided by Lady Denniston and Mrs Henry Cotterill, and other ladies of the Liverpool Committee will take turns at being hostesses during the remainder of the time. Mrs J. R. Russell is arranging the concert for this occasion, and other ladies will take turns at this also. The committee hopes that its country friends will send donations to keep the stall provisioned for the three weeks. Homemade cakes, scones, pickles, sweets, fruit, farm and garden produce, flowers, etc., will all be welcome, aud may be left either at the Art Gallery or the Lady Liverpool Depot in Colombo Street. The Art Society is giving this excellent organisation half the proceeds of their art union, a generous and timely gift. Miss Shirtcliffe (Wellington), who has been visiting friends in South Canterbury, has returned to the north, and has resumed her duties at the Lowry Bay Hospital.
